Star Dust ~ Poem by Judy Wood
Shooting stars are simply grit from space colliding with air molecules high up in the sky.
Tonight the air is cool. The night is still.
The scent of night blooming jasmine tickles my nose.
The blanket around my shoulders feels soft and warm.
As I gaze into the starlit sky, lost in thoughts of the coming day
I hear the door creak open.
I feel his breath on my cheek as he moves in close to comfort me.
Together, we fought through the grit of life.
We’ve overcome many trials, others give up, we go on…
I see a shooting star and make my wish…
