I have been invited to show my artwork at Dreams Gallery in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona.

I have been creating mixed media trees and forests, all with my six word micro poems as titles.
This mixed media piece was a commissioned 16x20.

Healing
Healing takes time.
Healing takes energy.
I am healing.
When I'm better, I'll be stronger, better, faster, and I'll post more.
Be creative! Be kind to one another. Be there for a friend in your area, like so many friends have been here for me...
Chat again very soon!

Bombshell!
I posted this mixed media collage a week or two ago, now everyone wants one, luckily I am holding "four of a kind", I have ALL the aces and I'm really excited to make and post photos of the rest of the collages! Check back for more Marilyn collages this week!
Well hello!
It's been a while since I've posted on my art blog. I'm busy with school and creating some new things for you all to see! One of my favorite projects this summer has been my "Finding Fairy Jars" inspired by my grand daughters; Callyn, Clarah, and Mikayla. Here's Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring!

Pink Lemonade Lip Gloss
Pink Lemonade Lip Gloss
I feel the
hot dusty wind in my hair
as I ride my
shiny red bike
to the corner
drugstore
I browse
through the latest 45 records
and remember
sun-filled
younger days playing jump rope and jacks
Grade school
friends
enjoying 35
cent cafeteria lunches
and 50 cent
Saturday matinees
The counter
feels smooth and cool
as I pull an
ice cold vanilla shake through my
red and white
striped straw
My prized
Pink Lemonade Lip Gloss
in a small paper bag I hold
close by my
side

Grungy Monday Challenge
Linda Ledbetter invited me to be a guest designer for a challenge on her Studio L3 blog. My task was to create something using a technique designed by Tim Holtz. His design is from the 12 Tags of Christmas 2009. You can visit his blog here: www.timholtz.typepad.com. If you are not familiar with Tim Holtz, you should be, he's an amazing artist/designer/writer/businessman with some of the best craft products on the planet. I'm in a group of over 2,500 artists called All Things Tim. Here's the link: groups.yahoo.com/group/allthingstim
Please visit Inge Bekaert's awesome blog. Inge is also a guest designer this week. http://web.me.com/pinkepinke/pinkepinke/Blog/Blog.html
Linda Ledbetter hosts the most amazing challenges, you can visit her blog here: www.studioL3.com
The best part about some of the challenges I've been participating in, is cost effectiveness. If you don't have the exact supplies, it's okay to make substitutions. You are not required to use the exact stamps or papers or bling suggested by the challenge coordinators or designers. Use the supplies you have, try to achieve the same look. Put your own 'spin' on it, think out of the box! Be yourself! Be creative!
Thank you for stopping by ~ have a creative day!
